We are making a photo gallery of some of the activities and fun events of LWVR over the years.

These are not in any order, but only serve as a pleasant walk down our own memory lane.

Everyone is welcome to contribute photos.

Registering new voters at Saunders HS in Yonkers. They will vote in November!

Several years ago, our longtime LWVR member, Monica Getz, graciously opened her beautiful home to host our “Meet Your Representatives” event. Here are Andrea Stewart-Cousins and
our Congressional Representative at that time, Eliot Engel.

In 2017 we joined with the LWV Westchester to promote the exciting new website: Vote411.org, which has grown and makes such an impact today nationwide.

At our October 2022 “Hot Topics” entitled SCOTUS Rethinks Choice, Guns And Air Quality. Now What??, we had a successful and very informative event thanks to our wonderful panel and excellent moderator, Mayo Bartlett.

Even during the time when Covid still was a threat, dedicated LWVR members decided registration drives at outdoor public events were important.

Representing our League and our State: attending
the LWVUS biannual convention in Chicago

Our last public event of 2023 was a thoughtful, warm and candid conversation with new NYS Assembly Members Dana Levenberg (AD95) and MaryJane Shimsky (AD92) regarding their first year as state legislators.

Our Congressman, Jamaal Bowman, was invited to our March 2023 open Board meeting to talk about local and national issues which impact all of us in the Rivertowns. It was an informal, cordial and informative session and we learned a great deal!

2/14/2020: To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the LWV founding, we went to the Attria Retirement Community and discussed the history of women's suffrage with residents. Note LWV founder Carrie Chapman Catt (extreme lower foreground) and welcome to our new member and Attria resident Florence Goldberg.

One of our last in-person debates before
Covid, this one at Sarah Lawrence College
for Westchester County Legislator District 15,
with moderator Paul Schwartz. There was a
huge crowd in attendence. Virtual forums were non-existent then!

Several years ago on a beautiful June day, at our annual meeting hosted by Jean Howell in her home overlooking the Hudson, we heard our “Students from Inside Albany” report about their time with NYS legislators in the NYS capitol.
